One of the best pieces of advice I received, when I started venturing out as a solo entrepreneur, came from my excellent Business coach and mentor, Monique Blokzyl. She talked about the power of team work but more importantly, how to create your Dream Team.
It is not just about delegating and seeking advice, she said. But about growing organically and having like-minded people around you. I call it Turning on the Team. To me, it is about building relationships and nurturing them, giving and asking, and then some more.

Just last week, the topic amongst many of my FB groups was all about overwhelm, exhaustion and burnout. Our enthusiasm and energy, our determination to prosper and provide valuable services often borders on impossible super woman powers and abilities. There are not enough hours in the day. I can’t sleep for worrying about paying the bills. I am not being heard, understood or believed.   I am ill again! We struggle with confidence and self belief and instead of developing our faith we fill ourselves up with fear. Delegation seems impossible and asking for help will show I am not capable! These were the phrases travelling around the grapevine.

I focus on and have huge respect to the pioneers of showing up and sharing their vulnerabilities and strengths. Bréne Brown, Oprah Winfrey Elizabeth Gilbert, Danielle La Porte, Jen Sincero and yes! You and Me too! There has been a very healthy turnaround in the female entrepreneur world, especially online. A virtual gathering of kindred spirits talking honestly and asking for guidance, open to limitless learning and valuing other women’s experience.

We are social creatures, and many of us most of the time, love contributing to the health, wealth and success of others. One of the benefits of gathering your Dream Team is the recognition of your teams individual skills. You don’t have to do everything! There is always….always someone else who can do it better than you, and with more love and energy. We don’t have to be Mary’s of all trades!

Another beneficial outcome of dream team collaborations is that each member has the potential to excel in her field of expertise. Maybe, acknowledging it for the first time.

All of us have experienced loneliness during our Biz -Niz development. Working at home behind the domestic curtain or sliding into cafes to just be around other humans…who make and serve coffee!  And those of us with children, family members or friends to care for, often find that the overload mode is just centimetres away.

Time to turn on the team spirit. Reach out – engage and connect – give before you take – be kind and generous – be brave – listen and observe – keep your wits sharp – feed the faith not the fear.

I believe we all need to switch off, take time out, not just to sleep but also to relax and unwind. To take a mini vacation from our hectic lives.
And one of the most long-lasting and beneficial ways to do this, is to build your Dream Team.

Make it your number one goal to build your team. As Henry Ford said:
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
