That Scary Blank Page!
So, my Friends and Fans, What’s brewing in your treasure chest of a Brain Box? I know you are brimming and bursting with ideas. My question to you is, what are you doing with them? Are you giving them some air? Some Play time? Are you even sharing them around a little or are you stuck on That Scary Blank Page?
-The fears we don’t face, become our limits – Robin Sharma
I do believe we are born with super imaginative skills, our own piece of genius. Unfortunately, too many of us get that creative spirit crushed, at home, at school, at work, on the ever-spinning, factory belt of modern constricted rat-raced road running.
A lack of encouragement can do deep damage at an early age and kill the innovative juices and put you off course, off life.
Time to face the Blank Page and set down your Brilliant Ideas. Yes, it’s scary, but not life threatening! Yes, it can be frightening, frustrating and make you feel like giving up! But you won’t!
-What you are afraid to do is a clear indication of the next thing you need to do – Ralph Waldo Emerson
It is all about taking those first few steps. Remember the first time you rode a bike or took a driving lesson? How about watching a baby take it’s first breath of air? Even Plato had a word to say about it. “Courage is knowing what not to fear“.
Try out the free-flowing writing exercise. Grab your writing device and let rip. Let those thoughts and brilliant ideas slip and slide out of your hiding place. Keep your hand and pen moving. Don’t stop till you drop! Many a famous author has used this Stream of Consciousness Style and found it a successful method of releasing the best from their hearts and minds.
As the Lady in the video says, ‘Give it a go, try it and share it”. Let me know how it goes, share with us in the comment box.
Don’t forget you can click on the Chat Box and Let’s Talk.
Yes AND yes! We should get off that conveyor belt of mediocrity and inactivity NOW! While the tragic/screwed up people of the world are reaching for their guns, let’s reach for our pens! Guns can try and destroy peace and harmony, while words can promote, spread and treasure it. xx
Yes, the famous Tabula Rasa, the clean page, first it is scary. But, for us probably the unknown more exciting than the well known. A kind of learning process about ourselves. The clean sheet hides the most interesting secrets about the theme and ourselves. It can unveil our indiscernible abilities, to be opened to the topic, and what it´s able to bring out from us, as inspiring our creativity. It’s like looking into a mirror, but an empty one. All mirrors are nearly empty until we take the courage to look into it. Be brave to face yourself, it perhaps distorts but if not, that would be boring.
Precisely, the newborn baby knows instinctively how to deal with breathing, grabbing things, or sucking, or walking etc. just need a little encouragement, guidance and care, exactly what you offering with your inspiring words. So we just have to smart, and brave as a baby to fill up that empty looking sheets.
