Being a huge tennis fan (loving all that determination, passion and focus) I heard a TV commentator, ex-tennis player speak about an up and coming new blood on the courts, saying; She knows her strengths she just needs to build on them. But also, she must learn to improve her weaknesses. Knowing Your Strengths and Weaknesses! It made me ask myself, what are my strengths and weaknesses? Not an easy question to answer is it? But it is something that is key to our achievements and successes in Biz-Niz and Relationships.
For example, I know I can write. Ask me to create a blog, short story, article even a poem or two and I would get to it straight away. But ask me to write a novel of 50,000 words, well, I have learnt to say, “pass” because I know it’s not for me – now!
It’s just not my forte. In fact, I have two incomplete novels rusting on a shelf somewhere! I know others who are really hot on writing the long form and so when an offer comes up, I recommend them.
-My strengths and weaknesses are twins in the same womb – Marge Piercy
Knowing what your hot points are, the parts that shine and excel – is such a confidence boost. Isn’t it?
-Believe in yourself, our strength grows out of our weakness – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Here are three suggestions to create an awareness of your pros and cons:
* Start taking a weekly check on your achievements and progresses, even the little ones. They all count and they all add up.
* Equally important to recognise what you are avoiding, shoving to the bottom of the pile, not even including on your ‘to do list’.
* Are you feeling comfortable? Maybe too comfortable, because without a few smart risks changes do not happen.
Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is part of understanding your USP – your Unique Special Personality!
What are your strengths?
Do you know your weaknesses?
Isn’t it time to face them down so you can learn and grow more?

Our great strength is to know our weaknesses, as our weakness is to over- or underestimate perhaps not to know our strength. Definitely your great strength is – to put your finger on the essence of our problems in your blogs.
Hi Georgia, Human nature is so complex, as I-m sure you discovered way, way back. Born with inherited strengths and weakness from our forebears and then given a dollop of some trait or two peculiar to only US, most struggle, or at least puzzle over what and who we are and why. Lucky enough to have lived a long life with my brain a bit rusty but still working fairly well, I don-t and can-t have all the answers but I can contemplate as I now have more time. And there is much to think about…I won-t bore you with my faults…but am glad I am patient and s l o w l y tenacious! Oh, and positive! Keep up with the good work you do. Onwards and upwards.
