How can I become more visible? So many people are asking this question out there in the virtual world. We want recognition, acknowledgement, kudos even! We want that ever illusive visibility too.
But I think the bigger question is; How to get Heard, Understood and Believed? And, one of our favourite tools for sharing our ideas and messages is by using our extraordinary vocal talents. Now, I am not talking about singing, or joining a choir…No, I am referring to your amazing spoken voice.
Did you know that the voice is made up of muscles, cavities, tissues, nerves and fluids? It can produce at least 325 different pitches. There are more nerves in the muscles of the larynx than any other muscles in your body, with the exception of your eyes.
The voice that we use to communicate our thoughts and ideas is the courier of our messages, the CEO of our words.
It is an instrument with power and flexibility that conveys emotions, secrets, strategies and blueprints for life. Your voice is indeed a powerful tool and worthy of lots of love and attention.

So, how can we be heard, understood and believed? My point of view is, we need to discover, recover and release our unique voice. By nurturing our sound, our tone and timbre and designing our special style of serving up the words. Our exclusive version of expressing our thoughts and messages.
Can You Hear Me? Let’s get physical, let’s talk about how you care for your magical vocal tool. Cut the smoke and drink more water. Here are some good health tips for speakers. https://www.write-out-loud.com/voice-health.html
Do You Understand Me? Dig out the clarity in your message, get down to the nitty gritty of what you really mean and want to say. Find your jewels. Dictionary, thesaurus and practise your sentences till they sound like honey.
Am I Believable? Make sure you have a fine fat portion of the 2 above and a triple heaped spoonful of self-belief. Confidence and self-belief do not come in jars, so ask for guidance and advice. Join a Mistressmind (my version of mastermind!) Find a coach to take you up a level or two. Invest in yourself.
Remember, our voice is like breathing with sound; our voice puts expression, feeling and passion into our words. And she (in languages that use gender, the voice is female) needs physical care and some TLC too! Getting your message out there means having a clear, distinct and bewitching voice to express it.

Our voice is an important feature of our physical and mental condition, sometimes it manifests our character. To look after it, care and control is as important as many other self care practises.
As you quoted, it is often a source of frictions and conflicts. Yes, the conscientious maintenance of our voice makes a big difference in our spoken communication.
Great advise to be aware of this.
“Heard, Understood and Believed” – great topic. And tone of voice is so important to achieve that.
Georgia, I love this message. Many times we do not think of all the things that need to be in place for your voice to convey the message it is you want to share. Knowing oneself, caring and having clarity and the right words give you just the exact amount of confidence one needs to use the voice in a powerful way. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Thank you, I found this really useful 🙂
With the absolute ‘barrage’ of wordy suggestions, helpful and persistent, sometimes ‘wise’ tips, ‘informed’ information, quotes and other ‘language paraphernalia,’ simple advice, given in an intelligent, precise and pleasing tone is truly appreciated!
A great read and a good reminder!
